Well, she's gone... 
First time I've really struggled to say goodbye to a car - she sat there, back turned to me, couldn't make eye contact, felt cold to touch as I drifted the backs of my finger-tips over her lovingly clayed flanks for the last time... ...she'll make someone a very happy new owner. Mint condition and ultra low millage (17k) she's only a pup...
What did I drive home in?
The new beast - 4.2 V8 quattro... ...Audi S5
Phantom black, magma red interior, fantastic media interface. Getting used to the electronic handbreak, but hill strart assist is pretty cool, and WOW that V8 engine noise... Also having to get used to a manual again, so much power that it seems most owners pull away in 2nd under normal driving.
Will post some pics later today, but suffice to say many thanks to everyone for such a great Z4 forum, I LOVED the meet-ups and the constant stream of unity and support for others shown on here. A great example of why the web is a good thing.
