To make the move away from a Z4C or not...

I really cannot decide whether to move from the Z4 to this or not.

Test drove it yesterday and its rather stupidly lose your license quick with the DCT gearbox, and the pronav Harmon Kardon is superb, plus its got the £4000 optional BMW performance seats.... problem is, something just said to me - the Zed is too pretty to let go.

Anyone move to a 135/335i/Z4 35is from a Z4C before? Any other thoughts or comments?

I went the other way, just couldn't love the 1er Coupe looks.

I only had the 120d so performance wise the Z4 Coupe is a big jump.

Didn't some one say the 135i engine had a lot if problems? It might have been on a different forum tho?

If I hadn't bought the z I wanted a 1 coupe but couldn't afford one. It would have been a 123d as I used to do loads if miles

I said the 135i engine has a lot of problems, they did two types of engine though the N54 (prone to HPFP and injector failures) and the N55 which seems to have been a lot more robust. This is the N55 version :)

I'm having the same dilemma with what to get next, test drove a 125i Msport which was in the right colour combo Le mans blue with lemon interior it felt quick enough but not Z4C quick but no where near as pretty as the Z4C
so i'm hanging on to it for a bit longer  :D

The 1 series is a wolf in sheeps clothing. Your ZC is a wolf in wolfs clothing.
I know what I'd go for.

I agree with Inkey$. I had a look at 1 series coupes before getting an E86. I thought the z was a lot more special and rarer, and as I don't need the back seats (yet) then the z was a far better package for now.

Why not go up to a Z4MC?

Good question, I think its because I don't really fancy paying £18k for an AUC Z4M Coupe which is 6/7 years old. I do far to many miles for a car of that age to hold its value, plus the M-Tax and MPG is going to kill me. The 135i got 34mpg average on my 50 minute test drive yesterday, which is pretty amazing.
The power of the 135i is delivered in a completely different way to the M as well, you don't have to rev the nuts off it to get the performance.

Completely undecided still :|

If I do go for the 135i, its having a 118d badge stuck on the back for ultimate Q car status :)

A nice car but not striking like the z, also it's appeal may fall when the 2 series arrives in 2014

If I needed four seats, is there much of a difference in price to the 335? If you do decide to go for the 1C then definitely hang on until the 2 series gets all the 'must have the latest' types chopping theirs in and denting the values a bit.

To be honest apart from the tax, i dont think the M would be much worse on fuel. A daily usually driven as a daily will average 27mpg depending how you drive.

And the engine has enough torque to not need the nuts revving off it. It's not a V-Tec, but it does fly towards the top of the rev range.

I guess the inspections are the only down side, but can be had at a reasonable cost at an Indy.

I wouldn't be surprised if an M ended up being more reliable than the 135 too regardless of age!

Looks like the Z4C is going. The BMW performance seats, performance of the car, Widescreen Pro Nav and HK audio have me sold.

If anyone knows of anyone who wants a Z4C they have 5 days to buy mine off me for anything over £9500 :)
