TO FIT OR NOT TO FIT

Sorry to hear that as am now tempted to go the same route. Having my 108s redone so seems like a good opportunity to do this at the same time.

I bought 19" wheels a while ago and decided that the car needed a drop to fill the wheels arches - really pleased I did got for the Eibachs. Got them fitted at MStyle for around £300 including springs. Before and after photos below;

I know mines only a 2.2 not a 3.0si but a good comparison on before and after :D
 
Cheers,thats the kind of stance i wanted on the rear,that's Not what ive got,a good 2 to 21/2" inch gap between tyre & arch. Damon Tweeks are very helpful,but need to remove rear springs again & send them back. So hoping the springs have been mixed & i have the wrong rears ! Here hoping :thumbsup:
 
I'd give it a few days before removing them. I didn't initially get the drop I was expecting when I fitted Eibachs but they settled after a few journeys.

Maybe go looking for some twisty roads? I'm no expert but shifting the weight around on some tight corners seemed to help them settle. :)
 
Kab , Yes gave the gun last night,handles great alot tighter but thats now 50 or 60 miles should have settled by now me thinks. Get it up on the ramp tomorrow & have a look before i take them off. I sure they are the wrong springs. I have fitted a few sets over the years with always good results ! :thumbsdown:
 
What part number you got? I did my coupe a couple of weeks ago and its :thumbsup:

Did you buy the springs via the link I sent you?

You got a photo of how it is sitting?
 
Tom the part number is the correct application on the box. Going to check the part number on the rear springs are correct as Chris from Damon Tweeks gave me the part number for the rears.
 
Standard facelift bumper with carbon wrap on the centre rail. Also done the rear aswell ! I think it looks great ! :driving:
Saved me a buying a M Bumper.
 
They are definitely the wrong rear springs - it looks like its sitting even higher than stock springs. When I had mine fitted, the drop was immediate and it must of settled down by about 5mm over time (not significant).... Let me know how you get on.
 
Update on Springs Eibach have had the springs back & tested. They can't find anything wrong with the springs & are correct spring for my car ! :x Damon Tweeks have been great offering to take the kit back & give me refund,but after fitting the fronts & can't be bothered removing the fronts ! So just going to refit the Eibachs back on the rear ! :( Handling was a lot better so on the bright side. :D Anyone used Eibachs on a coupe with no drop as aspected ? :thumbsup:

Sorry, I have not read all the posts but how long has it been since you had these fitted? As I'm sure you're already aware, the springs do take time to settle. Couple other things that might affect your ride height (or lack thereof):

1. Did you change tire sizes? A taller tire would offset the expected drop
2. How are you measuring ride height? Again this is potentially affected by tire size so the best way to height (without the effects of tire size) would be center of wheel to top of fender. What were your baseline numbers? IIRC the Z4 3.0si sport suspension was 14" front and 14.2" rear using the method just described.

A member on another forum recently installed Eibachs on their 3.0si coupe sport and measured 13.5" center of wheel to fender for both front and rear. This would translate into a 0.5" drop in the front, 0.75" drop in the rears (non-stock suspension would see 20mm further drop)
 
You could stick a few paving slabs in the boot, that will lower it to the expected height :)

Cheers guys ! Tyres are same size,only changed the wheels & are correct offset, measured the height from the centre of the wheel to the arch &'it's about 14inch will check it again when it's on the flat. Only wanted a slight drop to give it a better stance. Looking at some of cars been lowered with Eibachs you can see a notable drop
But not on mine. Sill post up pics when I get the springs back from Eibach & i'am sure you's will agree Not what was expected ! :( cheers Adamski couple of 3x2's will sort it ! Lol
