My front tires are scalloping on inside edge. Tires are Bridgestone Re960as run flats and car is 2011 e89 with m sport adaptive suspension. What are the likely causes? Within reason, i keep tire pressures on spec...

I just had the car inspected at the dealer and had the alignment checked. They said it's normal for run flats...

Just had the same issue picked up by the tyre fitters when I had the rears replaced last week - asked the same question and they suggested tracking but like you I had only had that done a few weeks prior.

Took the car back in this week due to a repetitive noise from the new rears which on inspection they suggested was down to a previous poor wheel refurb - lacquer on the inside of the wheel where it marries with the hub.

Apparently in addition to the noise this can also warp the discs which has happened on mine - warp discs can also contribute to the scalloping.

Suffice to say the 224's are in for a refurb (gone for the BMW Grey) and I have a new set of discs and pads to be fitted

Heel & toe wear (as it’s known) is a combination of several factors but in this instance, it is a phenomenon borne of run flats with the sensitivity of the power steering.

Improper toe angles are the typical mechanical cause but moving to standard pneumatic tyres should resolve this for you.
