Tire change dilemma

The rear tyres on my 2003 z4 roadster have a few hundred miles left in them. I want to move over to non run flats but am contending with these issues.

1) Currently on 4 run flats and the front tyres have lots of life left in them. Would there be any point in trying to sell those on to somebody else ?
2) I've read that when I come the sell the car dealers prefer run flats to be fitted. Does this really matter though on an older car worht dub 8k?
3) Two rear run flats will cost me about 500 quid where four non run Flats are more like 700/800
4) I dont really know how much ride improvement I will get from moving to non run flats (?)
5) Am I right that you cant have run flats at front and non run flat at back ?

Any thoughts ?

1. Yeah why not. Ask also the tyre dealer, he might trade them in if there is considerable life left.
2. I don't know but as you plan to change the tyres I guess you do not plan to change the car for some time so get whatever you prefer.
3. I spend 600euros for 4 Michelin primacy hp 17'' so actually the non runflat cost might be lower and you get 4 tyres. If you sell the 2 front tyres the difference in price will be minimal.
4. There is a good improvement in ride comfort but the ride is still a bit bouncy on very bad surfaces as the setup of the suspension is stiff.

Actually I only have about two years left in the z4 before i am persuaded to go for a joint upgrade with the girlfriend. I guess underlying this I am just keen to enjoy those two years with better ride comfort....so I guess I already know the answer to what I need to do.
 
Its not ideal but shouldn't be a great issue running your runflats out on the front with new standard rubber on the rears , unless you were planning to take the car up to the limiter 8) or hammering it on a track day ?
Do keep tread & type of tyre the same on same axle though :)
Also you would notice a bigger difference when changing the fronts to standard as this is where the tramlining & general twitchyness comes from :wink:
 
blackcircles are also quite competitive.


also check with your local (reputable) tyre fitters, they may be able to beat any price online.
