Tips for keeping a black car clean?

This is the first black car I have owned, when clean looks incredible but keeping it that way seems pretty much impossible. Anyone have any tips on keeping it clean for longer periods?

As above.

All of my and Mrs R's cars over the past 20 years have been black. Whilst they do show the dust and dirt more than most colours, they do look the best when clean and shiny. Mine has a few stone chips wihich also show up more on black, but I use the (rather frowned upon) Turtle Wax Black Box kit, which fills in the chips and the polish lasts well. It all lasts a lot better if the car has been properly cleaned with a clay bar.

Happy cleaning! :)

Also garage or cover your car even on dry sunny days and at night this will also help keep it clean  I had a cover on the Z yesterday and it was 28 degrees here

Snowfoam the car first then blast it off with the pressure washer then the two bucket wash method. Dry off with clean MF towels and detailer spray...Sonax Brilliant Shine Extreme is great. Every 6 weeks or so glaze/polish with Poorboys Blackhole (awesome!) and then use a quality wax like Soft99 Fusso Dark etc. I use this regime on the wifes Freelander2 and it looks superb.

Looks great, I will give it a go thanks.

Regarding the cover, am actually looking for a decent waterproof cover at the moment. Any recommendations for an E89?

Paint it Silver Grey.

Got there before me!!!

I love Black when it's sparkling but I'd never buy a Black car due to your points around keeping it looking good OP.

What Patriot 66 recommended is a good combo indeed, just make sure you prep it well, decontamination, clay mitt/bar, good polish, good sealant/wax on top and then top it up with a good quality QD.

Should keep you sorted for some time by simply doing a 2 bucket wash weekly/fortnightly, top up as above with a quality QD.

And me.......... just sell it and buy Sterling Grey one........

I had a Black mondeo Estate and vowed never to own another black car ever, ever again.......

Gorgeous when just cleaned, 1/2 hour later would look like I hadn't touched it.......soul destroying..
