Timing Chain Guide Failure - N20

I know BMW never issued a recall for this issue in the UK like they did in the US but am I correct in my understanding that the guide was redesigned from January 2015 - so any 18i's, 20i's or 28i's produced after this date would be less subject to timing chain failure?

Correct….not sure I’d be certain is 1/1/2015 but that’s the jist
