Time to fess up, I've scratched the itch

I've been trying soo hard not to scratch an itch that's been with me for 18 months now,but my willpower failed in spectacular fashion last weekend. I've done a Paza3 and bought a 911.As soon as I can remember how, I'll put up a pic to show you all my new baby.I collected it this Saturday, and drove it from Kent,to Northampton in the sleet and snow. It snowing like a b*strd now so I rekon it's time to test out the 4wd. It's a 2002 996 C4S, wide bodied coupe,in Arctic silver with black extended leather. It has bose, sports seats, sunroof, suede headlining,bi xenons, and the sexiest arse on a car since the Z4. I'm hoping you'll all still speak to me when I sell my beloved Z.The 911uk forum is a bit dull compared the top banter you get here.I'll be putting my Z up for sale mid March when the sun comes out and I'm back from a USA trip,I've got to get it MOT'd and the parking sensors to work when I want them to, not when they feel like it, before I advertise it.I want it to be spot on the next owner.Pics of the new love of my life to follow.

Congratulations on the purchase! Pics would be good :)

The crowd with pitchforks and burning torches will be along to lynch you shortly :D

Congratulations bigshurv - if that's your itch then the best solution is always to scratch :D

What's your current Z ? Is it an ///M, or is the 911 a serious step up ?

Great choice , the 996 C4S is at bargain money right now & hopefully you bought at the right price , for years the mags have said that £20k was the base but lots of good examples well under that now
, The doomers will go on about the failings of the watercooled ( & they do have issues ) but if you are prepared to spend to maintain then you will have a very special car & the feeling when the flat 6 goes over 3k with the foot down in 3rd & 3th is epic  soak it up enjoy it . . there is no substitute & i will go back one day

PS , have you had the front headlights out yet ? one day all car manufacturers will adopt this method

Keep the zed, like most you will return in a matter of months. This will save you buying another. :)

Right now I have both sitting on my drive,( covered in snow!!) so can choose which keys I pick up. My Z is a non M 3.0,so a big step up in performance. The 911 is mega compared to my Z, and is more comfortable as I can get my seat further back and have more leg room. I love the steering feel and the brakes are really strong, 2 areas that have disapointed me with the Z. I've had my Z for nearly 5 years, so haven't changed without some serious soul searching. We've even discussed selling my wife's car and keeping the Z,we're that fond of it, BUT, life is too short to not experience new stuff. If I don't gel with the new Pork, then I'd have no hesitation to return the the Z fold , most likely with a M coupe, though a Lexus IS-F with the 5 ltr V8 was also on my list.I know the Porsche is going to seriously empty my pockets, especially compared to my Z which I rekon has cost no more to run than a cheap family hatch, but, I've factored it all in and am looking forward to owning it as long as my Z.

Bigshurv fantasic news and welcome to the club! there really are wonderful cars , are you going to go on 911uk. I have a mere 81 posts on there  ... its also not a so much fun as over here.

The ASS on these cars is awesome, and as I have said to a few people I had a lot of cars between the wife and myself and this is the first time I have really felt content with a car  :driving: ...I love that is does 75 mph is second!!!!

Look forward to the pics,

TomS good news is all C4s have pse as standard :D

Cheers Paza

It seems to be the car that many are wanting to make the next step to. Me included.
It's at least a couple of years away for me though, if I keep my sensible hat on...

A tube of cream would have stopped the itching - and been cheaper!

To those suffering the Porsche itch, I know where there's a very well looked after one private owner car for sale next year, total mileage to date 2732

See my sig
