Tighten up the soft top?

It appears 95% of the rattles I hear in the car come from the soft top. When I have the top down, the car feels solid and doesn't rattle, whereas with the top up, the car rattles a lot and adds tremendously to the "Crashy" feeling of the car. That being said, has anyone successfully located common places for the soft top to rattle and found fixes for it? I think it would add a lot to the car's driving experience because while top down is super fun in the car, half the months of the year the car's top stays up and it starts to really bug me after a month or two of hearing constant rattles every time I drive the car.

Not noticed any rattles from my soft top, however the plastic trim does creak, easily solved with a quick squirt of silicon spray targeted wherever the plastic trim comes into contact with each other. Other than that, turn the radio up.

Wow, 2/2 for turning the radio up. Do you guys never like cruising on the highway sometimes in silence? Maybe I'm weird but it brings me a level of relaxation I can't get from having the radio on. Which brings to my attention that I need to find a way to expand the rubber on the window seals because air leaks and is very annoying on the highway.

Are you sure the top is rattling or causing it?
I'd be more inclined to think that as the ambient noise is so much greater with the roof down (wind noise, other cars, road noise, etc. etc.) you don't hear minor cabin noises. That's my experience.

That said I'm guessing your U.S. and you do get a 'cheaper' single skin roof.

I'm pretty sure its a mix of the two, but the top certainly makes rattling noises. I'm not sure what could rattle though, which is why I'm at a loss there. And maybe I'm a serial killer, but why would I reveal that

i get this, the rear part of the window doesnt give enough of a seal so at higher speeds i hear some road noise through there. there is a way of using the screws on the bottom of the doors for adjustment (u can lean in and out the whole pane to give a better seal) but i have yet to get around to doing it. if u do it, make a video please

Great video. Nice one.

I have wind noise in the top rear corner of that window you were having issues with. Haven't tried to adjust the bolt underneath the door yet, so will do that and see how I get on. Cheers.

just watched, cant wait to get home and try the 1st 2 methods (bolt underneath and then the eye inside the door)

thanks again for the videos, much more helpful than reading text

Yes excellent video! Love when people take the time to help others out like that. I have a little bit of wind noise above a certain speed but on mine it seems to be coming in closer to the A pillar rather than towards the back. Will give this a try anyway and see how it goes.

On my old Merc SL I also fixed wind noise by stuffing padding behind the rubber seals. Cheap effective fix if adjustment doesn't work

I think you'd be able to adjust any of the rubber pieces this way. I'm just glad I was able to find a 3rd way to adjust it because I maximized the other two options.

If you guys like the video, please share it and subscribe. Really helps a lot.

Very interesting video and learnt something new. I'd never needed to adjust the rear edge of the glass but could just about get a paper in s decided to tighten a fraction.

Interestingly having removed the cover caps off the underside of the door both adjusters were very loose and you could waggle the glass in and out by 1cm+. Set the adjustment and tightened the nuts and although I've not road tested it the doors do clunk more firmly.

Tried the cardboard behind that seal and it made it worse  very odd. Are there 2 adjusters under the door or just the one? I loosened off the rear nut and couldn't move the window at all, so i'm guessing there is 2?
