Ticking from engine e86

Hi legends,

Have a strange ticking noise coming from the engine ocassionally and it's quite worrying. Anyone got any idea. Ticking speeds up when revs increase. This isn't a constant issue.

google HVA N52 engine its very common unfortunatley.

Yep - what jamie_z4 said. Nothing to worry about - usually gets louder if you have done lots of short journeys. Take it out for a blast - once the engines up to temperature and the oil is circulating the ticking noise should virtually disappear.

If it's an N52 - put some Hyde valve flush in, give it a good run and then replace the engine oil. Avoid very short journeys if you can.
