Throttle Reset

Quick question on the throttle reset.......

Does anyone know if its best to do the reset when the car is warm so that after it's done you can go out in the car and give it some welly, or can you do the reset when the car is cold, then warm her up slowly?

Just wondering whether after the reset the ECU begins to learn your driving style straight away or takes an average of a few drives?

Not sure if I've perhaps misunderstood, Mike, but learning takes time. So it will be over the course of a few miles. If that means a few drives to hit a certain mileage, then yes, it will take a few drives.

It's over quite a period of time, you can see how much it adapts in INPA, I've done over 50 miles since a reset and it's still at a neutral point, no adaptation, so it will take a while and probably an adjustable average over time. Some people have probably never reset the adaption since the car was new so some probably notice more than others. Or just whack the sport button on, does the same thing

Pretty sure mine was set at the Ins 2 by the garage. The throttle response was very different after the service. Of course lots of other things were serviced too, so could be cumulative. Any way the torque curve in 1st and 2nd gears felt like it was much higher up the range, ie closer to the carpet. Strangely third and fourth felt pretty much as they had been before. Any way I'm getting used to it now, or it's getting used to me. Either way feels more as I like it. That's several hundred miles of driving later.
