Thoughts please> Z4Coupe 3.0si vs Audi TT 3.2V6 S-tronic.

i test drove both z4 3.0 and tt 3.2 manual on same day.

the audi was nice and when using full revs sounded nice and did pull nicely, gear change was allot more smoother and easier then z4. But at low revs was soo laggy with power. It was the main put off with it tbh, oh and the tax each year, although car was allot cheaper. Tbh the tt felt like any one could throw it into a fast bend with no issues

z4 seems to have allot more power low down, and you cant just slam foot down all time, so need to have some control. in end i bought this

There isn't a TT that will ever drive like a Z4!
TT is a version of A3/A4/Golf/Passat/Leon/Octavia, etc, platform so is always going to be a front-heavy understeering POS! And the lardy V6 up front will not improve things.
You probably need to decide whether you want show or go...........

Different beasts completely , if you want to thrash the back roads & bends take the Z , if you want to cover 500miles then still be able to enjoy the evening take the TT

well this is an old post.... however as i now have a TT my 2p worth...

The Z is a much more enjoyable car to drive.. but the TT - is easier to drive fast - especially down the back roads.. the handling is way better, and a much better GT.

Mine has the magnetic ride as standard.. with the dampeners in sports mode along with the quattro it handles way better than my Z4 could ever dream of and i had it lowered on eibachs - it does understeer though with a fwd bias - probably safer that way - but back to not being as fun to drive.

But the icing on the cake for me.. mine is now stage 2 remapped and over 370bhp... so a damn sight faster than my Z... doent sound as good from the 4cl even with the throaty exhaust! and even with that power bumper still isnt as enjoyable... also its far to easy to go to triple digit speeds with little effort or road noise... which does detract the fun somewhat!
