Thoughts on used F-type coupe purchase?

Lovely car but needs to be the S version, with the active exhaust. On a purely practical note the boot is absolutely tiny and not a lot of storage in the car.
Yes I know the boot is pretty shallow even in the coupe, but as least I won’t habe to lug round heavy suitcases, soft holdalls instead :)

I left my Z4MC for an F-type R. RWD. A monster but the build quality was crap and the jaguar service is shocking and v.expensive. I paid £65k for it sold it after a year for £55k. I see similar models are going now for as little as £45k. This Car New was £95k. You could argue you get a lot for your money (now) but I don’t think I would revisit this.
All this in the context of my old YE57 DXE being up for sale with Sytner for £29k!!! They’ve just bought it from the guy I sold it to for £21k, he put 10000 miles on it and sold some expensive wheels and an eisenmann race exhaust that I gave him and I only paid £18k 4 years ago when it had only done 26000 miles.
Is the world going mad - are there really some loonatics that are paying this sort of money, or is everyone over-inflating their prices to try and create an illusion of a “modern classic”.
Haha I don’t think you can argue with the market. Th Z4 M coupe is a rare and fantastic looking car. If you think the prices are mad check out the bread van!
I’m hoping the V6 will be considerably cheaper to run than the V8. And I’m also looking for a car that has already done nearly half of its depreciation. It’s gojg to require lots of man maths either way.

IMO id only consider an S as the base one to consider.

I would want the LSD and Sport Exhaust which come as standard, I would ideally also want the sports bucket seats too.

Plenty of cars about, I would save your cash and wait for prices to drop a bit more and then pick up an S :)
I know I want all those things too. When I bought my Z4 coupe I wanted 4 exhaust pipes, I wanted an engine that revs to 8k, I didn’t want the bonnet though, I prefer the standard smooth dome. The amount of miles I was doing at the time made the M to expensive a proposition. But even though it wasn’t exactly what I wanted I’ve loved it. It’s probaby a good job I’ve never driven an M.

£33k is a good price
Pm me details if you want and I’ll comment , or post in open forum
You’ll get nothing at a main agent and they sell quickly. I’ve just been haggling on both Epace (delivery in 3 weeks) and currently an Evoque and they won’t budge an inch on either ( former too new, latter dealer policy). They play with services, trade ins etc.
Try a specialist as they steal these cars before they reach dealers and you can get a Jaguar extended warranty often transferred from previous owner, or buy
Thanks that’s good advice, the one that’s up for 33k is in Milton Keynes and it’s red. I’m not gong be purchasing for a few months so just getting idea of prices and specs1

So as of today Jaguar has dropped the V6 across most models from what I can see XE XF FPace, for certain.
Pushing the 4 cyl. 300hp motor which is already in the FType
Logical as manufacturers scrabble to meet emissions across the fleet and in line with Porsche taking the Boxster the same way
As an optimist I’d say grab one now :), but if nothing else it’ll make this magnificent engine more sought after. The 4 sounds poor despite Jag trying hard

Or get and XKR-s

I love the F type, they are a good car and residual value has been good. The V6 wasnt that expensive new and to be still holding onto £30k+ price tags is not bad at all after 5 years....

M4's in comparison have lost £30k in 3 years........

Buy..... If you dont like it after 12 months,sell.... you wont lose much if anything..

I’d happily have an F-Type, but it’d have to be the R, so well out of my budget at the moment

I'd happily have any other F-Type - the R only has 2 pedals. :headbang: :)
