Thoughts on this new soft top?

Hey guys, I am planning on going from green to black. At first I was going to try and dye it (using Renovo), but after looking more into and reading reviews on people that have used it I don't know if it is worth the effort. But my E85 is garage kept! I also live in the U.S. so might be a little more expensive to get Renovo, but Amazon does have Protex. Leaning more on just buying a new black top...Can you guys check this top out and let me know your thoughts? This company has a few different types...this one is the cheapest option. A little worried about the material type.

I wouldn't want a vinyl top on my Z4. Look for a twill canvas, which is the OEM material. Vinyl will be shiny, wrinkly, and I think look awful. Just my opinion.

A canvas top will set you back $800-$1,000 (labor not included), but will look so much better than vinyl.

I had a new black top installed on mine this summer, replacing the original tan-colored top.

Agree with above, I would try and find a good used original one from a crash damaged car.

Definitely go for the canvas top. Worth it IMO seen a few zeds breaking on ebay worth asking price

I'm booked in for a red roof next month, will be getting this one. It's mohair and a well known company so should be OK.

I wouldn't go for vinyl. Leave that for mazda mx5 owners

Are they fitting it?

They are only a mile or two from where I live.

Are there any pictures of a top like this already on a car?
Do you mean that brand of roof or a red roof, a couple of members on here I believe have red one would be Jonny Essex, also the roof in the link is made of haartz fabric as I believe one of your links is

Like of the same material of the one for $340. I wouldn't have to pay for labor so $340 for a new black top is why I'm debating pulling the trigger on this. You guys think it'll look really bad?

I don't think anybody would say if they had a choice that they would buy vinyl. Unless current roof is ripped an leaking and cannot afford mohair,

O ya no doubt if they were the same price. Just wondering how they look on. I might have seen one in person, not sure. I could tell it was different than OEM. I wouldn't buy a new black soft top over $500. I'd just buy a hardtop at that point. So just debating on spending $340 on going from green to black. I have a white e85 with flat black racing wheels on ebiach springs with h&r wheel spacers so a black top would be huge for me lol.

Yeah, they were doing 10% off and honoured it for me as they've had to order a burgundy hood in from the states
