Thoughts on 35is Pricing Please

I am not sure if I have pitched the price right at £23,995 ono for my 2015 (65) 35is, 24,800 miles (link to For Sale post below).

I am keen to move the car rather than sitting on it in the hope of achieving close to the sale price, however, I obviously don't want to give it away.

Any thought would be gratefully received.

I'd check what similar cars are going for on autotrader and price it similarly.

I can't imagine the Z4 is an easy car to sell though. Quite a small target market.

It's a lovely car, I really like it.. and a decent spec too. Strangely no front or rear parking sensors though.

I guess it's strong money for someone to part with over a private/forum sale. Winter is fast approaching which doesn't help and it's a niche car. Higher tax, running costs, potential adaptive suspension issues and loads of 20i's selling recently.

However, with that being said, there's always someone out there willing to part money for their ideal car.

Best wishes with your sale. Perhaps give it another week and consider lowering your price and advertise it on Auto Trader.

As you’ve asked this is going to sting Boyo but imho you’re going to have to knock 2.5k off the price with a view to taking 21k privately. A dealer can offer PCP etc, and rightly or wrongly this kind of money for a private sale is a big ask for an E89 without the psychological cushion of a dealer behind it, and especially at this time of year. Not suggesting for a second that the car isn’t worth your ask but it’s going to be hard, to impossible shifting it at £24k.

Just my opinion obviously.

I can see a similar approved BMW car from a dealer at £25k. Usual rule of thumb is knock £2k off the dealer prices and you should be competitive

Thanks everyone for your input. As I suspected I was aiming to high. I have reduced the asking price to £21,995 ono and put it on Pistonheads.

Seems a little high compared to the market, but I think you may get a bit more attention at 21k. Obvioulsy Its not helped by the fact that (as someone mentioned above) in this day in age, where most people buy cars from dealers via pcp/hp having 20k plus to put on a private sale without dealer warranty takes some balls.
I have also seen the market drop off, ironically, cars I was offering £17k on 2 months ago, and being rejected, are now down around 15k (kicking myself I wasn’t more patient). If your not desperate to sell, maybe wise to pop her under a cover and try and sell in spring

Just had a look at your ad OP. Pics are good, also it has Warranty, full dealer service and a service pack. Lets not forget the brand new Michelin's too.

Have you listed this on auto trader? It should shift.

Thanks for the feedback. The car is also on PistonHeads and if it has shifted by next weekend I will also be listing it on AutoTrader.
