Thought I had wheel bearing noise but it wasn't

Since I bought this car I've been disappointed with road noise, (after coming from a Z with 16 inch wheels). Surprisingly the ride is better on the 18's but I have this rumble like a wheel bearing but never changing (constant).

I spoke to our tyres fitters whilst having my Berlingo shod and he reckons it's cause by the wear (feathering) on the tyres. He told me to jack it up and spin the wheels and feel the tyres, which were feathered.

I decided to swap the wheels left to right (f+r) and give it a test drive, to my surprise it is now silent. Tyres are Pirelli P Zero (18's). Has anyone else had this and how long will it be before it starts again.

Be careful switching front to rear as the Z 18s are usually staggered so the rear are are wider

Tyres have a perfect wear, very even all round and I understand they are staggered and only swapped left to right. Tyre pressures are perfect too. 2.1 F 2.4 R

Sorry I read your original post (f+r) as meaning you had swapped front and rear wheels, my bad, but glad you got to the bottom of it

Mate of mine had this on his Zed - was all down to tyre pressure, so maybe worth checking again even though you say it's ok.
