This years insurance quote

I have got this years insurance quote.

£308 - that a plus 10% rise from last year - they can’t blame inflation this time nor I guess the amount of claims - I suspect due to the decrease in traffic volumes, the claims rate will have gone down pro rata ?

Is this in line with others premium increase this year?

My van insurance went up 20% a couple of weeks ago, my broker managed to get it down to around a 10% increase, blamed it on the number of transit vans being stolen last year

Just had my renewal from Adrian Flux on the Hyundai Kona and it's up 42 quid from last year, the M140 is also with them which is due in July so guessing that will most likely rise too.

Par the course, it's not often any insurance goes down

Tim.

The renewal quote for my E86 was lower than last year's premium (with my then current insurer) and shifting it over to the insurer I use for the MX-5 and M135i made it cheaper still. Shop around. See if you can limit your mileage (I have) as that helps. Play around with voluntary excesses and also watch out for big increases in compulsory excess. A couple of years ago an insurer put a fairly large increase on the compulsory excess on my M135i at renewal time.

My car insurance renewal with AXA has just gone up £4 (to £196)
I was about to accept, but informed them of a non fault motorbike accident in October.
Premium went up to £211.
Annoyed me a bit as my bike insurance was unaffected
I did a quick search and got identical cover with Churchill for £155

My premium with AA went up by £40 for no apparent reason. Shopped around and went with Direct Line for £189 against £378, with a slightly higher excess which i was happy with.

My 3 series with Aviva went down £11 a few weeks ago £208. Halving the mileage and taking business use off made no difference so just left as was incase I start using it properly again later on I the year

Admiral increased my policy from £192 to £216 a quick search on Go Compare then a phone call to Admiral they dropped to £186 for the year job done :D

My insurance for the Mercedes is with AXA and it to went down by about 10% to £320, we’ll happy,

I'm currently with LV thro our forum insurance agent - Ive just done a comparison web site quote and they are about the same. There are some lower priced companies out there but on a like for like basis they aren't too wide of the mark.

My E86 is with A Plan through the BMW Club and I paid £200 for 3 k miles this year, of which I think it managed 300 :( . Expensive miles/ pound I suppose. Due in April and will be sorn until then anyway. Interesting to see where it goes, moneywise and how the year pans out mileage wise. I dont think any of us know...................

No, it's impossible to guess how this year will go.

I have my 3 Series with Churchill and got an e-mail from them last year saying I may be due a refund if I was doing less mileage due to CV19. Great, I told them that instead of 8K a year I was barely doing 50 miles a week - I got a refund of £11.20.

It will be interesting to see what they want when it's due for renewal in April!

Bloody miracle Mr Tidy !
Not a life changing figure but a no quibble refund all the same - quite enlightened compared with my previous insurer where they invited no discussion about refund and increased premium for this year by a fair amount.
What plans do you have for the £11.20 :D

It will be interesting to see what my renewal quote will be as I started with nil NCB as the Zed is a second car. I only paid £287 anyway. That wasn't the cheapest just the most convenient.

Got a renewal from Direct line recently. Ridiculous rise :o

Ageas advert popped up on the telly, checked with them & half the price. Called Direct line and they would not budge so cancelled.

Paying £ 235 now :)
