Thinking of updating my go pro but can't decide..

Have a gopro 1 it does what I want but with some limitation. There's no led on the back or side so it's not easy to tell if it's recording or not. There's no wifi live screen ability to see what I'm recording and there's no remote so starting and stopping recording is fiddly.

I mainly use it for through the windscreen recording

I've been looking at the gopro 3 black and black plus. Amazon will do the this weekend for £279 and £299 respectively.

If I sell my old one for say £100 then the upgrade will still be close to £200. Can't decide if the outlay is worth the benefit

Any opinions welcome

How often do you use it? I bought a Hero2 and a bunch of add-ons (LCD and Wifi backpacks) and have used it 3 times. If you're not using it often I wouldn't bother updating it.

I've been thinking of a 3+ as a christmas present but I've been put off by some of the initial reviews which have highlighted problems with the lens on certain serial numbers.

Between the various classic car clubs I'm in probably use it 10 times a year, some used to view movies of various road runs (sad init!)

But that's what I'm thinking, is it worth it
