Hi all

Just thought id put something here to see if anyone would be interested in buying my GAZ Gold coilovers? Im after going a little lower on the front & I cant do it with this kit so thinking about selling them. This is how low the front goes :

They are an excellent kit with height adjustment plus damping/rebound adjustment from a single knob on the side of the dampers.

These were specially made for a Z4, they curently do not make a kit for Z4s, but the person i purchased them off had them speecially made. They should fit all E85s & E86s except from M models. Heres a link to GAZ Gold coilovers for an E46 which they are similar to:

These were originaly over £900 new! Im looking at £300 for them, the only down side is both rear shockers are leaking. These can be repaired as I have spoken to GAZ & they say a service of both shockers would cost £23.50 each plus VAT

I dont want to repairing them if im getting rid, but if no one is interested I may do it before I put them back up for sale. Let me know guys :D

What is the ride comfort like with these? How does it handle around bends (stiffer than sport springs?) and over rough roads?

I've lowered mine with springs and its maybe a little too low as bumps / speed humps are a pain at 5mph. I was thinking of raising it slightly using coilovers, but keeping it slightly lower than sport springs allows. How low is yours set with these at the lowest setting? Does it allow for a positive rake? (rear higher than front).

Any closer pics of the tyre / arch clearance?

Hi, the ride is a little harsh, but ive got the front as low as it will go and the rear is quite low too. You can adjust the dampening to make the shockers harder or softer so in theory it can be made softer if you wanted

The handling is the best part about them! on smooth A roads they are great, alot stiffer than sports springs, but on B roads because I have it so low its a little bumpy, but if it was raised a little & the dampening adjusted, it woldnt be as bad.

The rear has loads of adjustment, it could sink the wheels into the arches if you wanted plus it can also raise it quite alot too. It does allow for positive rake.

I will get a couple of pictures of the front and rear arches tomorrow in day light and get them posted tomorrow evening

The rear has been raised quite a bit recently as I fitted 20mm spacers at the rear & didnt want any rubbing or catching, luckily theres been neither! :D

Is it just me or is that about the same as the M sport suspension as standard? Is there a benefit of coilovers comapared to standard shocks and springs apart from adjustable height? (As the height would be set and probably stay in one position)

I'm still interested though, as I keep catching my new nose I think, I need to check it its the skid plates, flaps infront of the wheels or the wheel hitting the arches but something needs to be done about it, I can't keep crawling over bumps.
 
no worries :-)

Its a little lower than the standard M sport suspension i believe. Its the adjustability you have with coilovers thats the benefit, you can adjust the shocker dampening to perfect it how you would want it to drive if you get what i mean.

Well ill let you know if i do defiantly decide to get a new set & sell these, wont be untill after christmas anyway :D
