Thinking about switching to something bigger

After a couple of years with the Zed (which I've never quite fitted into properly - if only the seat went back one more inch!) I'm thinking of switching to something a little bigger and more comfortable. However I don't want to lose the soft top, so I'm down to a couple of options:

The easy /sensible one would be a 2007 or 08 630ci, which I see is on a par with my 2.5 for acceleration etc, but is more economical despite the added bulk.

The wildcard would be a late model (1994-96) Jag Xjs convertible 4.0. I love the style and the effortless power, and it seems these late ones are much more reliable, better rust proofed, and relatively economical compared to the earlier cars. However the steering is really really light so there's no feel at all.

I only do about 4000 miles per year and the car is really just a weekend toy/convenience with 5 or 6 longer trips a year.

What would you do? Any other suggestions?
 
Going to throw a spanner in the works by saying xkr.
To compare with the 6 fairly, as opposed to something comparing with a mk1 635!
 
630 (drive very well for a big car, smooth, comfortable, great hood design, quiet at motorway speeds, but rear very cramped for all but small kids) bmw build.

Shagwar XK the facelift one, V8, great looking car

Avoid - An old XJS is really for the very brave/clinically insane :!:
 
The XK as already suggested otherwise the 6 series. My mates just gone from a E85 3.0si to a 635D and loves it
