Things to look out for

Picking up new zed on Friday,
Private sale, any things I should be especially careful to take a look at?
Any classic things that go wrong etc?
Any advice much appreciated

Model?
Roadster/Coupe?

If it is a roadster, make sure u put the roof up and down a few times to make sure it functions fine.
Do a full turning circle, both left and right.

I'm sure other more knowledgeable people will advise further
 
Hi check oil filler cap for white mayonnaise if it has that gasket problem check for play on wheels give them a wobble check wipers go to home position and don't rise up after function open bonnet with engine running and listen out for blowing from manifold also check all buttons and switches work check for leaks in engine bay and under car hope this helps a bit good luck :)

It's an e89 2 litre turbo, they don't suffer from head gasket/wiper/manifold issues like the e85 2 litre :thumbsup:

e89 is it ?, check for rust in the roof as one forum member had problems with his, don't think he looked after it that well though :wink:

E89 roof can't rust, it's aluminium :thumbsup:

Alloy bonnet, front wings & boot I've heard :?

as mentioned above, also check the alloy wheels, especially if they are 19" ones.. they are known to crack. its on the inside faces though so they are not that easy to see.
