Morning all,

In one of my late night/early morning thinking sessions (including things such as "how do dragons blow out candles) I had the following thought pop up.

In the current weather, I've noticed that the windows have frozen shut, no biggy just time and a lukewarm cloth held against the seals but.... If the battery dies and the windows can't roll down their half inch, is it safe to just yank the door?
 
i can't comment on a z4, but i used to have a coupe with frameless windows where the windows were supposed to drop an inch when you opened the door. Except a dodgy window switch meant that it didn't (the window wouldn't even open). i think i ran it like that for 3 years with no problems at all...
 
I assume you want to open door to get to bonnet to jump the battery, but can't.
I need to check but the power lead for the starter goes through the boot floor.
I wonder if it's possible to jump from under the boot floor.

The battery of the 35is is in the boot. I am 100% positive you can jump the car from the boot.

Yes, but you can’t open the boot with a flat battery :?

I’ve disconnected the battery and then opened the door. It opened fine, so in an emergency it should be okay.

Yes, it’s closing them that is harder. But if you push the glass you can locate it under the seal before closing the door from memory.
 
I remember closing my door on my old X/19,the rubber gutter had slipped down a bit, it wouldn't closed so I slammed it... Shortly before getting showered in little squares of glass!
 
Following some advice from Bing & the Z being SORN’d , bought this - has worked wonders on my daily Coupe windows & seals... no sticking :thumbsup:

Since we're totally off topic, sorry OP, this guy once said he could blow a candle with a fart. That's when our friendship ended. :lol:
