Thieving scum

Just went to my garage to get the car out and wash the car and noticed that it was slightly ajar. Despite it being locked someone has prized the door open and made off with my brand Clarke jack (still in its box). Thankfully they hadn't touched Zara apart from knocking the wing mirror.

Whilst relieved that the car is ok, I'm livid and slightly worried that someone has been into my garage. :x

It's actually the first time I've been a victim of theft. So I suppose I'm lucky really, I'm really fecked off though!

Plus I can't wash my car as the forensic peeps might want to dust.

Sorry to hear but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for forensics unless the culprit killed your neighbour with your jack.

I doubt the boy in blue will be interested unfortunately

Sorry to hear that your garage has been broken into, easy pickings for them

You've got as much chance of seeing forensics as you have the scrote that stole your jack! Just wish I could catch the thieving gits just once to persuade them it really isn't worth the pain they are about to suffer..........

Shame and very upsetting.

Guess it could have been much worse and gives you an incentive to make sure they cant get back in again.

Seems stats indicte that they are likely to return once they have been in..

+1, yes definitely upgrade security, always a risk they will return for more tools or even the car. Makes you even more angry

Sorry to hear this.

I guess it is only a matter of time for all of us before something happens....the only way to avoid having stuff nicked, is not to have it in the first place!

Moved our shed last week and put all my tools and stuff in it cos its now in a better place (dont have to walk over soggy grass to get to it)....need to beef up the security cos theres been shed thefts recently.

Its a case of getting the balance right - not so OTT that its mega hassle for you to even get in, but beefy enough to make them think sod this, lets try somewhere else.

You were right about forensics, tbh I wasn't really expecting them to come so I'm not too fussed. Went around to all of the neighbours last night to warn them and also see if they had seen owt. Turns out that one has just had CCTV installed which looks onto our garage so it's possible they might have caught something...fingers crossed.

It also turns out that every single one has had garage or shed turned over within the last year :| ! One neighbour has been having building work taking place and in road daylight someone tried to take the builders trailer. The neighbour heard the noise and legged it after them! I mean wtf!!

Apparently it started a couple of years ago, perhaps a new family moved to the area!

I feel you pain.... I got burgled a few years back and its not nice.

All it takes is one bad family/ neighbour and it can bring the while neighbourhood down.

Hope the damage isnt that bad to the door.

You going through insurance?

My Dad had 12 break ins during a 9 month period despite extensive security upgrades.
The only thing that stopped it?
Installing a big F**k off, well trained Doberman!

Dont think ill bother with insurance as I guess it will put up the premiums (so whats the point in insurance). Just gonna do the normal security updates but I wont bother replacing the jack and pressure washer for a little while.

sorry to hear that, been there, its is an awful feeling of violation, sounds dramatic but when you are an honest person you take this sort of thing really personally. its normal behaviour for a lot of scrotes, you will be stewing over it for weeks while they have forgotten about it alraedy and moved on to the next target. as for the police , there will be more chance of them coming round to do you for a tweaked or missing front plate as per one of todays hot topics than the soco boys trying to solve this one. sad but true. go for a kin good hoon on your way to the diy store to get a better padlock and some bear traps, ... oh and break a few speed limits as payback !!!! (long as its safe of course )

fuckers... its a s**t. i think your ina catch 22 with security. if you beef it up and put shiney locks etc your just saying you have something worth nicking if you do nothing your just allowing them to nick stuff.

i recently had my bike stolen from the hallway in our shared flat. there are 9 flats and given that 7 out of the 8 are people who are all over 60 and one flat is known to be a bit of trouble everyone suspects them. they are decent enough people and it just coincided with them having a party that annoyed everyone (i was away). there is no proof and its heasay but it wouldnt surprise me if a drunk guest "borrowed" it. it just makes you suspicious of everyone.

with regards to security i had to leave my westfield stored in a garage for 6 months at my old house wile i lived away. i was worried about the same thing; someone prising the bottom of the door open. I installed these http://www.easylocks.co.uk/enfield-garage-door-bolts-garage-door-locks-handles-p-4624.html?gclid=CIz3tOish7kCFYPHtAodYSkAOw they are very very sturdy i used 2 on each side. they are easy to conceal as they mount on the inside so apart from the key hole and the dome bolt nothing much is on the outside.

one thing tho the key is nuts and cost a fortune to get a new one cut so dont lose them

ARRRRRGGGHHHHHH had a great day down at Gaydon came home and thought right time to add a deadlock. Went to get my wratchet set (present from the missus) and they must have taken that as well! Utterly p'ssed off. Keep trying to tell myself that its nowhere what Beedub went through and to get over it.
