The roof down in the cold thread....

following n from that is there anyway to stop windows going down when opening doors as in this weather they are freezing shut which must surely put stress on the motor,
on a side note my drivers windo does weird things sometimes it goes down an inch or two other times it goes almost fully down when entering and or leaving car.
Is this normal?

If you double-click the open button on they keyfob when unlocking, the window will drop almost fully when you open the door. Its a feature that's meant to make it easier getting into the car when you are parked in a tight spot and don't have a lot of room to open the door fully!

Cheers but no way to stop it going down? Slk was the same (to do with air pressure making it easier to shut) I think

Ps I double checked the right light cluster tonight and have 1" of water sloshing about, left just has condensation but hopefully get both changed!!!
Will also check in bot for water etc tomorrow :x

I think every coupe i have owned has done this.... although my friend managed to disable it in his mini - either on purpose or it died - not too sure!

Is this a standard feature or does it need activating by stealer or indy.?

I tried the double-click on my new one and it didn't work, I'll try again later. I may have been doing something wrong , may have touched the doorhandle too quickly.

Is it on the E89?

Not a double click on mine, you hold the open button for 5 secs

Sorry, I meant the drivers window dropping a long way to let you in easier. My roof works fine remotely, up and down.

double click doesnt work on mine either... if i hold the unlock the roof will drop - which i guess will aid getting in the car in tight spaces - dukes of hazzard style!

So do I LOL. Sounds like functionality difference between Z4 Coupe and Roadsters then for both Mk1 and Mk2, as for obvious reasons holding down the button doesn't lower the roof on my car. Would get quite expensive....holding the open button, for me, lowers all the windows just like on an E46.
