Anyone stumble across this?

https://www.topgear.com/car-news/first-look/turbocharged-mazda-mx-5-will-do-155mph

A 5 second 155mph mx5 would deffo be tempting. My bugbear with it has always been the lack of speed. I get ''that's not what the car's about'' but it's been the only thing that's ever made me see it as a bit of a toy car rather than a serious choice personally. But a warrantied 258 bhp with all the plus points of the usual mx5? Nice.

A Turbo'd eunos has been on my want list for ages but plumb this kit into the Abarth body (ignoring the fact that it's a different engine) and you'd have a great machine in terms of both performance and looks imo.

Mx5 has always been serious, just different IMHO.
Been there with one of these, a turbo mx5 is a pretty different beast. Quite an "exciting" drive, for a 24 year old Mk1 mine was last dyno'd at a respectable 238bhp & torque at 198. That's close to my Zed in a car that weighs almost half as much :-D

I've had a supercharged mk1 1.8, awesome sound from the charger. Bit cramped though with the roll cage it had, LSD was fun.

Love it. So hope I don't come accross one on a B road. Could out Q the Z4M, as sports cars go.
