The instant service

Does anyone kow if the engine management is driver adaptable on the manual transmission.
Seeing that BMW and Rovers paths crossed at one time, i know my MGTF eng. mang. could be reset by giving the throttle five application with the ignition on, resulting in a more lively and perky performance.

Did the same today on the Zed and again the engine/throttle seemed more responsive :driving:

The reason i tried this is that my colleagues car came back from a service, she claiming that the car seemed to run better(probably because they lifted the bonnet and filled the washer bottle!).

Often wondered if this was a simple dodge done by the manufacturers to give the impression the service dept. has done something good for the car. A bit like defragmenting a computer hard drive.

From my TT and zds the car adapts to your driving style and doing a throttle body reset makes things pick up again at a loss of mpg. I also complained on my 1st zd and they upped the throttle curve a bit on reprogram but it a reset makes the car lively. I have always said if the sport button is pressed then this should auto reset the adaptive throttle.
