The Hobbit-

As a total LOTR geek, i know every word in the fellowship of the ring film, read each book about three times etc and have been DESPERATE to watch the hobbit since return of the king...

My opinions, yeah its a great film, some stunning scenes and i watched it in mere 2D...

But, i hate to say it....i prefer the other three....i know its a different story but i just couldnt warm to all the dwarves as much as i could the fellowship...and IMO the best fight scene is the one where the uruk hai first encounter the fellowship, much prefer the short and sharp fighting as apposed to the ones in the hobbit, not gonna spoil but i didnt enjoy those scenes as much as the battles in previous films

But great film all the same,
and i cant wait for the next one :D
 
I watched it today in the high frame rate 3d, ouch that's expensive :cry:
Looks pretty odd at times, not as soft as a normal Hollywood blockbuster, but I think it helps the 3d feel more natural.

The film itself was good, worth a watch but hopefully setting things up for bigger and better in the next couple of films. As Woots says, not as good as LOTR, fewer of the characters are engaging, the story isn't as epic.
 
I'll wait 'til its on Blu-Ray, I had all the books when I was a long haired teen,
did I say books ? Perhaps I meant clay tablets...... :wink:
 
We bought this for our son for Christmas. It's carved wood. Looks a bit plasticky on the pic because of the flash but it isn't in real life.

have they made the hobbit a multi phase film ? i didnt think the story would have filled a couple of hours - how far does the first film go into the story ?
