OT - I agree with the choice of the e39 M5. Not sure about the other 2....
 
I have that issue and i really enjoyed that article. Evo is a great magazine and so is Car. :thumbsup:
 
yep i bought it and it's one of the few magasines that gets deliberately left under the coffee table for show - shame the z4m wasn't in the last group though.. =(
 
They've never been a great fan of the Z4M, I think one of the reasons for that is the dreadful Continental tyres that came as standard and on which they originally tested it. Fitting 19's with Michelin PS2's transforms the way the car drives IMO, a fact that was acknowledged by Richard Meaden of Evo when he did a mini retest of a Z4M with these fitted along with a strut brace (which does tighten up the cars handling at the front despite Karls protestations). He commented on the improvement at the time. The Z4M was still on the Continentals when the Evo comparison above was carried out.

Fortunately my Z4M has 6 forward gears and one reverse.... Article is wrong.... I wonder what other mistakes were made.... :thumbsdown:

Wasnt sure about the number of gears but you guys obviously know. So a missprint maybe then? Silly mistake for the UK's most read car mag..

Hi, haven't posted for a while. Been a silent witness!

Actually Evo mag like the "M" roadster and it's currently their character alternative to the Porsche Boxster. They road tested the two along with a TVR and an Alpina roadster and gave the vote (just) to the "M" roadster over the Boxster. A more exciting drive basically, which I think most would agree.
