And I've had 4- I think! Its hard to keep tally.

Genuinely this car is an absolute belter and I'm only selling as I am not using it as much as it should be and I have eyes on another project.

Appreciate some will say its overpriced- I'll try to justify why I think its worth what I'm asking but I am open to some negotiation.

I've got photos to document most of the works I've done to support the paperwork.

Priced at £6,500.

2003 03 3.0i manual in Sterling Grey 472.
140k miles with good history and lots of works done BEFORE I bought it. 2 keys. Stacks of paperwork.
Decent specification and stunning 224 wheels in immaculate condition shod in Uniroyals all round with excellent tread depth.
MOT: I will place a full year on for the new buyer as it is due in Nov 22.

Spec:

Black heated memory electric M-Sport seats in good condition. I can swap out standard SE seats but I'd rather not. Both seats have under seat boxes fitted.
M-Sport steering wheel with black spokes
Folding mirrors
Rain sensor and auto lights, dimming rearview
Sport button
Cup holders
Sound deadening fitted to doors
Cruise control
Cold aircon
Headlamp cleaning
Wind deflector

Works done by me:

General

Fitted M-Sport seats- seats out clean underneath
When the car arrived it had airbag codes and steering angle sensor issues- both sorted no recurrence
Roof motor was in the boot already but I refitted a newer one and refilled the reservoir
New high level brake light
Leather knee pads and extended leather fitted to screen surround/sunvisors
Leather dash fitted (dashboard 2 pieces)
Strut brace fitted to engine bay
Fixed folding mirror
Stormwerks gearknob and handbrake fitted
15mm spacers fitted to front wheels- none on rears
LED lights fitted in all areas and LED strip in the boot (standard!)
New front and rear badges
Door membranes repaired and stretched bowden cables fixed- no damp or water ingress
Fitted bonnet alarm switch
Roof re-waterproofed
New fuel cap seal
New grilles fitted (black) and new slam panel fitted under the bonnet
Cabin filter changed
Fitted new boot hinge
GM5 relays replaced
Arch liners off and cleaned all cavities
New wipers and wiper motor cleaned along with scuttle area
Headlights cleaned and sealed
New (to car) better front bumper fitted with good foglights
New (to car) left and right lower splash guards fitted

Engine works

Vanos seals, rattle rings and bearings changed. All gaskets including valve cover changed.
Water pump, expansion tank and thermostat changed with new antifreeze
New sparks, new oil (Millers) and filter
Brake fluid changed
DISA checked
CDV removed and clutch stop added
New clutch fitted
New oil filter housing gasket fitted
Gearbox oil replaced
Diff oil replaced
K&N filter to original airbox
New coils fitted

Suspension and Brakes

Bilsten B4 fitted to front with new top mounts (lemforder) and new ARB bushes/drop links
Sachs rear shocks fitted with Bilsten top mounts, lemforder drop links and ARB bushes
New rear springs
Rear brake lines replaced with knifer. All flexi hoses replaced with braided hoses.
Steering rack greased
325mm callipers and discs fitted to front
New rear brake discs, pads and handbrake shoes
All callipers painted silver
Full fluid change and bleed to brakes
Prior to me buying the car the RTAB's were replaced

I'm sure I've forgotten a load of stuff- this is a superb drive and as you'd expect with all the works done it is a fantastic place to be. The removal of the sound generator foam makes the right foot get heavy at times but still delivers a mid 30's MPG now the Vanos has been done.

Happy to talk over any questions you may have- I'm in Waddington south of Lincoln and can do video calls/walkrounds etc.

Cheers

Stuart

Cynic!
Only if you've done anywhere near the work this one has had.
If not then on 60k yours is about ready for a complete suspension overhaul at the very least!
And a new set of vanos seals...........

However, living that far north maybe you need to get it up for sale now?
That 10k should help keep you warm :poke:

Doing 10k of Mods,or in this case Thousands and Thousands of pounds of Repairs, general maintenance and preventative maintenance/repair items likr Vanos etc doesn't add £££ thousands of pounds value to a car.

£7k is a lot for a 2003,140k mile z4,
regardless how much repair work has been done to it.
There's currently a 2007 2.5si ,facelift z4 with 112k miles on AT for £5700( similar power to an 03 3.0), and a 2008 Sapphire Black 89k miles 3.0si for £7000.

Glwts,op

Tbh, my reaction was not to the price of Stuart's car, but to the flippant and completely un-needed comment added to the thread.
I admit the car will never be worth the sum of it's parts but I'd rather pay £7k for that than £10k for one with no provenance.

I don't understand why people insist on posting pricing "advice" on for sale adverts, when they have no intention of buying the cars.
It rarely helps IMHO.
The seller has decided on a sale price, he has even justified it, which he didn't need to.
If the market deems it's too much it won't sell. Simple.
GLWTS Stuart.

Comments like these are made on here, and other forums many many times,by many people, and often without criticism.....so why criticise my post when it's a fair comment .
Many other long term forum members have commented in the past about cars for sale being a bit steep in their ask.
Didn't see you giving those other forum members stick?

The car for sale is very nice, but 7k is a bit much for an 03 reg,140k mile car.
As said,if others don't agree,and think it's a reasonable ask,then fair enough......am I not allowed to give my opinion?
If the 7k ask is right,it will sell easily for that price, and I will be wrong.

It's a Forum,Pondrew....it's what people do

What I said wasn't nasty,or malicious,as many in here are,often.....just giving my opinion that it is a tad expensive,as the o.p did open the door to comments about price,by trying to justify what he had priced it at.

I agree,if it sells at 7k, then I'm obviously wrong.

Was just my opinion,as we're all entitled to post.
If bigwinn didn't want any comments on his car or pricing, then a Forum isn't the best place to do so.
As said,my comments aren't nasty or malicious.

I have seen this car and have had a lot of work done on my car by Stuart. So I know that he is very thorough in what he does and the work completed is to a high standard. Anybody buying it will get a very well sorted car. We all know that buying twenty year old cars is a bit of a lottery. But what Stuart has done is taken the uncertainty out of the situation because he has dealt with likely problems. GLWTS.

I believe, from how it reads to me, Enuffs comment was directed at the chap saying his 60k mile car must be worth 10k..not your following comment Craig

You sure that's the right way round Stuart? Or were you going for the Citroen DS look?

I agree,IRD, it's a lovely looking z,with plenty of age related work having been done.
Still stand by my opinion of the £.
No doubt whatsoever,it looks a nice z.

How much did those M-Sport seats run you? They look amazing! I have the beige interior and hateeeeeeee the standard seats. The back panel on mine keeps coming off. Would love to upgrade to those.

It was a comment that already had multi quotes in it so you get a notifacion even if the comment was directed elsewhere as you were in the multiquote  i think :D
