Thanks for the advice - picked up a 3.0 on Saturday!

Hi all

Thanks for all the great advice before I bought the car. The checklists proved invaluable, certainly highlighting a few manageable problems which allowed for some movement in the price with the dealer. I've been looking for roughly 3/4 months now for a black 3.0 Z4 roadster with red sports seats and I finally got what I wanted! Managed to get a 12 month comprehensive warranty too so I'm really pleased with myself, especially as even though I'm only 21, I got insured for £1000 - the same as my last car somehow - an MR2 roadster.

iPod connection - there seems various different methods on here, but unless I'm overlooking the thread, I can't find a guide to the quickest and easiest fix, could someone point me in the right direction?

Forgot to add - I very nearly walked away as I was not expecting to hear the car had 6 former keepers. Is this unusual? As I said, I nearly walked away, and had it not been the exact spec I wanted, I probably would've done. The car has decent history, especially for the last owner in the past 2/3 years, which I guess is most important, all history is from a BMW dealer, and Inspection 2 carried out 8k ago. This plus the immaculate interior lead me to believe that she had just changed hands as a summer car.

Would this have put many of you off?

Looks a tidy car.

As for iPod, I just fitted the Dice DUO, (as like you no NAV). With the latest firmware 4584 (23-06-11), it is much improved and works well for £120.

I like it... the read seats with grey interior go really well together... also has detangoed rear lights and side indicators.

Its nearly a 7 year old car... so a new owner each year isnt necessarily a bad thing... if it just had its inspection 2 it must be on low mileage for its age... which would indicate it could have been a second car/ summer car... which may have just changed hands each year...

Looks like it also has the same stubby (or not so stubby) as me.. an s2000 aerial!

Ah thanks for pointing those out - only just noticed the rear lights and indicators are different! (And the aerial)

That's what I presumed with regards to the former owners. As long as she's a trouble-free car, I won't let it bother me! :)

Welcome! Great looking zed - I wish mine looked that clean!

Thanks!

Ha, I'm sure it won't look like that in a few days! I've never been the best at keeping my cars clean, and I've never had a soft top without a hardtop too, so I'll be reading up on how to keep that looking decent!

Hi and welcome.

High number of owners on a car like this isn't uncommon, so if the history looks good you should be fine. :)
