Tell me if my roof is normal please!!!

When closed the interior surface of my hood pulls quite tightly on the roll hoops.

I wonder whether this is normal as the hood also scrapes on the roof latch and this is stressing the fabric to the point of causing a tear. The roof latch used to have a plastic covering but since I've owned it it has just been bare metal which has obviously exacerbated things.

Any thoughts?

Does everybody's soft top pull tightly over the roll hoops?

Doesn't sound normal if the roof liner is making contact with the hoops when the roof is fully closed...

Mine drags over the roll bars as well and it is nice and tight with no saggy bits. Was worried that it may tear on the roll bars but after 18 months ownership its given no issues. Car is 9yrs old.

I think its a case of they all do that.

Mine is quite tight on top of them with the top up. This suggests it's out of adjustment it seems.

Mine just touches the outside edge of the hoops when closed.

Sounds normal to me.
