Talbot samba master cylinder

My ancient but lovable samba cabrio needs a new brake master cylinder. Impossible to find. Anyone know of a guru who might be able to fix a m/c that my Haynes manual says is not repairable or who might offer up an alternative solution. Somebody somewhere must be able to help as there are lots of old cars around needing help without parts availability. Thanks

Presumably the bore is scored or pitted? Being a sad sort, I'd machine it out a bit to restore a smooth surface and then try and find a bigger seal for the piston.

However, Talbot (like all manufacturers) wouldn't have made their own master cylinders and just gone to Girling, Lucas etc instead. And these would have been common to many Peugeot and (probably) BL offerings which gives a bigger pond to fish. And probably a lot later than 1986.

Is there a more modern car conversion you can do? Like the Renault Clio master cylinder?
