I'd be a lot more interested in lecturing on speed limits from the government if they actually stop designing and building roads that you know will end up accident black spots. There are two major roads that have been built in recent years near me. One is already the most dangerous road in my area and the second will be in the future when traffic volumes start to increase on it. Maybe I'll start listening to their lectures when Highways Dept officials end up in court for Corporate Manslaughter.
That said, I have some sympathy for the police who have to enforce limits and clear up the mess when it goes wrong.
