switch pack question

I've just bought a pair of M Sport electric heated seats. My current seats are standard electric (non heated).
So I need the heated seats 'switch pack'.

I'm guessing this is what I need:

Looks like the one, you will need some wiring as well I think, don't believe it will be hidden away.
 
That should be all Marlon yea, just check you have the wiring already installed otherwise you'll need to add that too. :)

Yeh, bit annoying that - this is the site I just bought one from for £75. It's the wrong colour anyway, the one I just bought is black - obviously black ones are more expensive lol.
 
I thought the post face lift cars didnt have the complete loom like the pre-facelifts, so you may well be requiring some Twin&Earth Marlon.

I think you're right - I'm getting my local Indy garage to swap the seats so I will pre-warn them. I'll keep you posted - cheers Alan.
 
It's quite a bit of work - maybe get a quote first? The footwell panels need to come off and the carpets pulled back. The wiring goes right through the middle of the dash, over the transmission tunnel to the glove box fuses. Needs a couple of earthing points attached too, plus the control wires for the new switches.

It took me nearly two days to do a similar retrofit for electric seats (see signature) and I would say it was just about worth it. Heated seats, on the other hand, are definitely worth it in a roadster. :thumbsup:
 
Hells Bells - so the labour costs could be high :( Well I'm committed now - theres no turning back. Thanks for the details, I will pass them on to the garage thats going to do the work.
 
I'd be tempted to say very little to the garage expect give me a quote. Then I'd let them sweat a bit after you have a fixed price. If you tell them apparently its a nightmare, surely their going to quote on the heavy side with a safety factor built in, whether they use it or not ?
 
Yeh, well we have sort of agreed verbally that I'm paying per hour - he's aware that the car may not be pre-wired for the heated seats. I may just let him know its probably not pre-wired and leave it at that. Have used this garage for about 20 years, I trust that they will be fair regarding costs. Cheers Alan.

Good advice.

I think the retrofit instructions say about 8-9 hours, but the seats already have heating elements in them, so that probably takes it down considerably. Honestly though, it really is worth doing, even for a couple of hundred quid - suspect we have a few cold, sunny days ahead of us and you will be laughing if you get them fitted!

Funny you should say that as I'm expecting a cost of up to £200 actually - a figure I've guessed at. Anything less will be a bonus, and like you say its one mod that will be worth every penny.
