Swirls on my Silver coupe

I guess the good thing is about silver is it doesn't show swirls all the time like a black car might.

But in the dark tonight I was parked at my mums underneath a lamp post. Could see lots of swirls on bonnet and roof under the yellowy orange light!

I mean the whole roof was a swirl!! :(

How easy are they to get rid yourself? Will polishing with Autoglym srp get them out, or do I need to use a more coarse polish first?

That's the thing with silver - it hides swirling much better but you see it clearly under street lighting at night. You could try with something like Lime Prime from dodo juice - my guess is you will need a DA polisher to get swirls out - the photos on the Pro Detail post on Silver Titanium ( link in my Sig) give some idea of before and after it took the Detailer a couple of days to get them out. I used a DA polisher on my last Z4 and got most off the light swirling out myself.

You hardly saw the swirls on mine in the daylight but under sodium lights you could see them .

it can be corrected its just a question of how much time / money you wish to invest in getting it back straight .

Other option I believe is poorboys white diamond which fills swirls at least partly.

I presume the 110 has a few swirl marks on it - good to see it being idled as they should be in your Sig,

Poorboys or SRP will help to fill them. You might need several hits of the filler to work....

A good write up HERE

That's a great write up. Even better as I already have some srp. But I'll probably need more!
I'll give it a go myself once we've got some dry weather! If no good I'll get a detailer to have a go in the summer

Yours looked lovely zermattv

Haha. Swirl marks is the least of my problems with that! Rust, oxidisation. Plan is to rub it all down and paint it in the summer. You can get some pretty decent results with a roller believe it or not! :P I'm thinking satin NATO green :D
