Hi all new to zealous cleaning whats the best way to restore the paintwork (flat imola red non metallic) without using a machine,I've heard of claying but never done it (have only just discovered the 2 bucket wash). Have been offered a machine polish by a bodyshop for£100 but with the right products and a plan of action would like to tackle the job myself even if its for the experience of trying to get that deep wet shine.

take a look at my guide!

If the car has a lot of swirls and scratches i would let the bodyshop do a machine polish..
Then i would refine it by hand to get a good deep shine.

If you want to get rid of all swirls and scratches you will be doing it for months...

I machine polished an E39 individual over last weekend that was full of swirls and bonded contaminants. It took around 14 hours(with machine and refined by hand) to get it where it needed to be..Although a couple of the deep scratches were slightly visible.

Have seen mguar/autoglym kits on halford website will probably try one of them, thanks.
