I put a couple of words in the swear filter, but since then people seem to have used ways to get around it, swapping letters around it, or using some numbers to replace letters etc...

Now, I really don't care if people use the odd swear word or not, it's just most forums seem to filter them, so I did the same.

Shall I remove it altogether and allow people to moderate themselves, or add some of these variant words to the filter, it's your call.

I don't mind the occasional swear words (I'm definitely no saint), but I think that since this site will be exposed to lurking by a diverse range of people and of different ages, it might be prudent to have some filters in place.

I care less, what is important to think about is that people willl get the intented message.

So really the way the message is presented, be it f**k, F*ck, fukc or whatever does not really change much does it?

Given that the site will hopefully be insanely busy, I think a swear filter is a good idea to reduce the amount of manual moderating needed.

Sadly. Because I'm a sweary c**t.

Personally not bothered either way.

But I guess as this is a family site, we need to be seen to have some controls!

I say keep it on. I thought the whole point of using the numbers or stars or whatever was so that your swear word is no longer a swear word. What's wrong with that?

f**k it, turn the damn thing off. It's just a big pain in the ass to have to keep using * in place. I mean, personally I don't give a s**t either way.

WTF? Is this a teenager site? Come on, are we not adults here?

Looks like the "turn it off's" are winning.... will leave the poll runnin for a little while longer and then do what it tells me... power to the people!

Seriously though, those who voted to keep it do have a point, so I hope people will bear that in mind if I do turn it off... :)
