Swapped out the OEM xenon bulbs

Was in my local Halfords this week.
Spotted the Osram Nightbreaker DS2 xenon bulbs, however the price didn’t look right to me.
The shop had them listed at £29.99 per bulb.
Took them to the cashier who confirmed the mispricing but honoured it.
They should have been £62.99 each!
I got two for £59.98

Hell of a difference compare to the standard
OEM xenon bulbs.

Should’ve put a before and after pic

Considered, however anytime I look at websites where other people have put their photos up, I’ve always struggled to see the difference, or any difference didn’t seem very much. Didn’t want to join that club here.

Never had to replace my xenons, but as they are now eighteen years old, they’ve probably lost their edge by now — might give these a try. Were they difficult to change? Don’t want to get electrocuted, any special precautions to follow?

I’ve read stories about making sure the battery was disconnected first, but also read just not to have the key in ignition. So I went with the easier option!
The igniter is on the back of the bulb, and there is a cable clipped in. Was really easy to pull the cable out.
The igniter then twists, it tells you on it which way and then pulls away.
This leaves the bulb in the holder.
A metal clip is released and the bulb can be pulled out.
The revers steps are done when putting the new bulb in.
Obviously don’t touch the bulb with your fingers.
When inserting I think the bulb can only go in one way, but make sure the rod running the length of the bulb is at the bottom.

Took longer to take the wheel off then out the bulbs in.

One other point. Inside the system igniter is a plastic ring that has a couple of notches to allow the bulb. This ring can spin round and prevent the bulb going in. You can use a small screwdriver etc to spin it to the right spot.
