suspension refresh (control arms)

Looking to do a refresh of main suspension components in the near future.

I note the following kit has the most sold on ebay, Cannot tell because its on the cheaper end or is satisfactory for OEM replacement, I am not interested in polybush etc as I prefer the car to be comfortable rather than pretending im a racing driver every morning to work.

The control arm itself I imagine would be fine but rather the quality of the bushes may be suspect? Anyone have experience of this or similar control arm kits vs lemforder/meyle ?

As decent quality lollipops are about £60 a pair I would be surprised if that set was any good at all to be honest.

your probably better off getting the components from Autodoc. If you get the mobile phone app you get a larger discount than from your computer. Postage is £8 from Germany. My app login is showing 28% discount today.

I'd encourage you to shop about for branded OE spec parts. At least you know where you stand then and won't have to do it all again in a year. Most of the cost will be in the labour so no point in skimping on the parts.

probably right, Just the number sold on ebay was 400+ so didnt know if that was just what everyone used and as good as anything else.

I replaced the wishbone and lollipops on mine when I got the car with Meyle HD.

You gets whats you pays for!

out of interest ive looked up Autodoc. they seem to be one of a zillion uk based on-line stores. why are you saying plus post from germany???. do you guys know of any decent OE BMW parts suppliers that will ship to me in Australia or should i keep buying ex USA??

I believe that Autodoc are actually German they just have a UK website (amongst others). The parts usually get delivered from Germany. Are you familiar with RealOEM? On there you can look up the OEM part numbers then search for them locally. I'm sure there are enough BMW's in Australia that someone is stocking parts locally. Over here most stockists will have a presence on eBay so that is a good way to shop.

At that price I would suspect the quality of those parts to be questionable.
I think I paid 80 each per arm with pre fitted lollipops made by MOOG from local parts shop.

Hey mate, check out https://clickableautomotive.com.au/bmw-e46-z4-front-lower-control-caster-arm-set-standard-31122282121-31122282122-31126757623.html

I use Clickable when I'm looking for OE or equivalent parts. Have had only good experiences with them - especially when trying to find parts (just email them). No association - just a very happy customer.
