I know we have generally been going to the Black Swan in Ockham lately, but the field isn't ideal this time of year!

So last month I went to Denbies Vineyard that has more hardstanding and an indoor cafe. It doesn't seem to be an organised thing but the first Sunday of each month some interesting cars turn up there from 09.30 onwards. Postcode is RH5 6AA.

https://www.denbies.co.uk/

There were 40 or 50 cars there (mostly post 2000 like out cars) with several Porsches and Aston Martins, some Ferraris and the inevitable MX5s! A few older cars though including a 1969 Ferrari 330GT, a DB5, DB6 and a couple of Triumph Heralds. Plus two Ferrari FFs and a Lamborghini Murcielago.

Anyway subject to the weather I'm planning to go on 5 December and was thinking of stopping for a bacon sarnie and a drink at Newlands Corner (GU4 8SE) around 08.30 before heading on to Denbies. Although Denbies have a cafe it isn't as good as things are sat in a heated display, and it can get busy as they run site tours and have other events like craft fairs, etc.

So if anyone fancies a trip out we could meet at Newlands Corner at 08.30 or just turn up at Denbies at 09.30.

A few photos I took.

I might give it a try or Greenwood’s at Chobham albeit it’s usually quite small there is an interesting collection of classic and vintage fire engines under cover to look at . There is indoor catering and the garden centre as part of the site.

I will try and get along to this, possibly directly to Denbies depending on how heavy Saturday night is. Weather is looking good for the weekend at the moment.

Ah, I have people staying or I would have dragged one vehicle or another out. Dorking is just round the corner from me :(

That's a shame guys.

I'll see how it goes this time, but at least the weather forecast is looking good so far!

Last month I went on to Rykas at the bottom of Box Hill for a nostalgia trip. Back in the 70s/80s I spent many happy Sundays there on motorbikes. :D

Anyway it's the first Sunday each month.

Newlands and Denbies tomorrow  let’s hope the weather is OK. Last couple of times I’ve been to Denbies, it has been thick fog. The vines like it apparently.

I did get there unfortunately very few of the expected cars were there but might try it another month.

Will have to arrange visiting the family first weekend of the month so I can pop along. Grew up few miles from denbies but never knew of this unofficial meet :driving:

Mr Tidy and I were there and met a few people. Not sure one of them was TONYMOR, I’m sure he would have said. There were a few nice cars coming and going but I think the weather and some competing events kept people away. I’ll put a couple of pics up later.

Yes it was good to meet you again.

I did see Tony but I left a bit later, and he was in his green MX5 anyway just to confuse us!

Unfortunately the guys "organising" the car parking were just putting everyone anywhere when we arrived, although later on one of them did manage to get some of the more interesting ones together.

i can see why the weather may have put people off - it was a bit chilly! There were a lot less cars than last month, and quite a few didn't stay too long.

Sorry I didn't make it today, Lucy tested positive for Covid so thought it best to stay at home.
