Supersprint Race Exhausts - Weight

I'm wondering what the weight saving (if any) there is of the Supersprint Race backboxes I have fitted to the car, compared to the standard boxes. Anyone know?

I don't need to measure how loud they are - I just check if my ears are bleeding for that!

Akrapovic (however that spelt) full system on a GT3 saves 14+kg, but then again the engine is the wrong place so it would make a big difference :P

Would be interested to get the info for each section of the system if thats not being too analy retentive.

Not much. They're pretty heavy. You can get a lightweight race exhaust for the CSL/M3 but unfortunately the SS race for the Z4M isn't particularly light. If you want lightness you need to go for something straighter such as the RPI cans.

I think that Akrapovic baby is made of Titanium though and costs £7k. I suspect the Z4M systems aren't made of as exotic a material ?

That's for sure! I was surprised how heavy even the end cans were when I replaced them for the ACS ones.

7k for a full titanium system does not seem too bad. The full ACS one is about that full list price.

Standard back boxes are very big and heavy but most of us would provide the car with a better power to weight gain by cutting out the Saturday pints and curry and going the gym more often! :)

I've already done that bit, shifting 2 stone fairly recently. That's a good few KGs off!
