Trying to get a few more, some of you are local so...
(copied from PH)

Anyone keen? The start point will be Newbury Services on M4(Chieveley) at 7.00 AM and the finish point will be West Oxford at a great pub for breakfast prob around 9am. Journey to be kept off-line - its approx. 85 miles tried and tested route with a few new roads.

You'd be done well before you need to be dawning your suit :D

I think the organiser plans one every so often, so I can cross post as and when he does.

Hi, I could be tempted with this (as long as it's not wet), the finish is fairly local to me. Will know if I can make it on Friday as it's a bit short notice.
I don't use PH, but will keep an eye on this thread. Certainly be up for it in the future.

Sounds good OP.

But given the route is "to be confirmed" it sounds a bit like the PH Summer Run I did on 12 July 2014 that started at Tesco in the Meadows at 9pm on a Saturday night! An E320CDi doing a burn-out in the car park was maybe a clue of what was to come!

Too much time spent at speeds with licence losing potential for my liking - I'm all for giving it some but if I wanted to travel at that speed I'd book a track day, not use single-carriageway A and B roads! :o Especially for over 2 hours without a stop!

Not trying to put anyone off, but just be aware of what you may be signing up for!

Whilst I understand that would be frustrating, you can always turn off and go home. I've done a few runs, organised on a load of different sites and never had issue.

Must admit i dont fancy thrashing my car for 2 hours in a vain attempt to keep up with some much faster cars listed on the PH thread. Plus Ive only driven about 100miles in it so far, I simply don't trust it enough yet (and at 14+ yrs old I probably never will). On that basis I'll give it a miss this weekend, maybe later in the year. Tbh a Zed focused drive and meet up would be preferable.

This is a go tomorrow, not forecast to rain, but roads are wet, hope they dry out.

MM, if you are still coming, I'm meeting an other in the layby shown below at 6:30am...

Well done SamZ4M for stepping forward and trying to organise something. Don't be put off by the negative comments.

2 hours is an average time for a drive. We often meet at 7am with breakfast planned for 9 or 9:30. By the time you all meet up and chat and then pull in for a few unscheduled stops the time flies by.

As you say, anyone who isn't happy can always drop off and pootle home but I think it's out of order to judge somebody's efforts and deter others when you've not attended their events before and base your comments on a previous PH experience.

Any run starting at 9pm, in darkness and when people are leaving pubs, etc sounds like a recipe for disaster anyway. Thats why the better runs are early on Sunday mornings when the roads are quieter and you have the luxury of daylight.

I hope you have a good drive. :driving:

Well said Alan
Sorry Sam cars not finished and it will be quite a few weeks until it is. But once it is I will be wanting to do as many meets as I can so please do another.

Hope your having fun

Just seen this, but car is sorned until March and you have already started any way :)
I will be up for this next time, if work permits, good luck on the run and remember PHOTOS!!!!

Thanks for the positives guys. Had some sun, but roads were wet. We weren't going mental just a spirited drive with some good motors, not 1 overtake done either! Will defiantly cross post the next one, needs more Z content...
