The wife and I had a nice day out in the New Forest today, beautiful weather and lovely roads to drive on (A31 between Romsey and Lyndhurst gets a special mention). A picnic and a little light cricket watching and I was a happy man. Didn't end quite so well mind you...

All was good in the world until some frigger decided to reverse into the side of my car with his foot welded to the floor  :headbang:

Why is it always a guy whose car is worth about £50? Obvious I suppose, now am not a happy man as likely to lose the car for at least a couple of weeks while this is fixed and I have all the hassle of sorting out the insurance and hire car malarkey. The only thing that could rescue this for me is if I get an M5 as a courtesy car, but I'm not holding my breath :x

Ouch! Suppose the door and the sill are an easy enough fix with new panels, how bad is the 3/4 panel to the left of the door, looks just a superficial scratch that will come out when they feather in the new paint on the door?

Idiots :headbang:

This shows it a bit better, I'm not really sure how bad the dent is to the left of the door with reagrd to repairs, doesn't look too clever though :(

In a perfect world people pay attention to what they are doing and would see you were in their path and not have done it. I have been on receiving end of this as well, and I do fell your pain!

Sorry but it`ll get sorted, damn fool eh?. The worse part can be handling the insurance co. I had a similar accident a few years back in my old 3 series. My car was parked legally in a parking space and some guy reversed straight into the side of it it. He was very apologetic and said it was totallyhis fault. (which was obvious to anyone). So I thought it would be a straight forward claim. His insurance company wanted a 50% blame only and my insurance co. just said to me if they don`t get the money out of the other insurance co I would have to lose ny NCB and my premium would rocket to £1500, I was fuming. How simple should this claim of been? I just told them that they had better get the money out of the other co and eventually they did (many many months later). My insurance company just didn`t care where the money came from.

Anyway, off me soap box - good luck, Make sure you get it repaired via a BMW approved bodyshop

I've already contacted Barons Accident Management Service which will hopefully ensure that it is all dealt with as it should be. MoreThan said ring back Monday morning

Poor baby!

Almost took that same road today, ended up going through Sandbanks to Monkey World (this is as cool as it sounds).

Very nice part of the world, she'll get fixed and you'll have the rest of the summer to enjoy!

Ring up accident exchange they are great what ever car you drive they supply or better .I had a 120d m sport and a 3 20d m sport for 9 months when my 1 20d was in after a women backed into the door and never admitted it even though it was 100% fault.

hopefully you will get it all sorted soon though...

Man...... stupid people.

Glad no one was hurt and hope your car gets set right quickly!

Feel your pain!!

6 weeks after I bought mine someone rearended me at a set of traffic lights, but have to give Direct Line credit, one phone, call car picked up next working day and a hire car (brand new merc cls) ready for me! Got car back week n half later all sorted and since the other guy was wit Tesco insurance, essentially the same company as both RBS owned no loss of no claims and no excess.

Hope yours goes as smoothly.
