There are probably as many summer tyre threads as winter ones on here, but here's another anyway!

Two votes, what is/has been your favourite summer/all weather tyres on the Z4.

Any choices that you want added, ask and I'll add them

I put a vote in for the Falken FK452 as it's the only tyre (other than the original Bridgestone runflats) that I've used on the Z4. Given that I've only covered 13.5k miles since taking ownership, I've had no chance to try anything else!My rears are done after 12k miles so I've replaced like for like to maintain the same on all 4 corners.

Not on the Z4, but of all the tyres I've had on other tyres I actually rate the Uniroyal Rainsport 2's as one of the best all-round tyres I've driven on. Had them on my Clio 172 and will probably look into them for the Z4 if I ever need a new full set.

Besides the OEM Bridgestones I have only run Falken 452s and sort of asked the same question here.
Anyway think I'm either going to go for the Vredestein Ultra Sessantas or maybe the new Falken 453 if I can get them.

Added the couple suggested so far (vreds & michi ps2's)

I have good experiences of them too on past cars, I'm eager to hear some opinions on them on the Z4. They've also got the bonus of a cool looking tread pattern :)

Still got the OEM Bridgestones on mine too, when I get round to buying them I'm torn between Avon's & the Falken's. Roughly the same price, the former I've had before on past cars and were good, the latter though seems to be the tyre of choice on here. The poll might confirm or deny that unfounded rumour though!

Couple of points - which might make the poll huge, but here you go anyway...
  • PS2 ZP (runflat), but no non-runflat PS2?
  • No Pilot SuperSport (replacement for PS2)?
  • No Pilot Exalto (which is what the PS3 replaces)
  • Only one version of the Goodyear F1 - when there's the gen 1 & gen 2 (gen 2 being better than the gen 1)?

I have M PS2 non RF at the mo, great tyres but they are pretty expensive I have just got some 19"s so will be trying out the vredstein ultrac sessantas next! Significant saving over the PS and very similar performance apparently.

There in lies the problem - I knew I'd never be able to capture all the tyre choices first time, and thought I'd add them as required afterwards. Reading the phpBB faq it seems like only mods/admin can do so though.

Only just got my new alloys with the Goodyear F1 asymmetric 2's but once they are fitted will complete a write up on how they compare against the Bridgestone RE050, has anyone else fitted non RFT's to the e89 yet?

My PS 2 ZP's are the best tyres I've ever had on any car. Grip is phonomenal, ride is supple and they seem to be wearing ok as well. :)

But they did cost £1k which is an awful lot of money.

That's what put me off renewing PS2s. Too much cash. Great tyre, jus too costly

:o that would be the 255/35/18 on the rear, the cost for my F1 A2's 225/40/18 all round was less than £550.00 fitted

is the E89 non-staggered then sars? Or is that non-standard sizes you're fitting to your BBS?

2 x rear FK452s in 255/35/18 just cost me £260 - supplied and fitted by local tyre/wheel shop (Skidz in Falkirk). Could've got them from camskill for £228 delivered but then would have the hassle of finding a fitter I trust.

My BBS CK's are 18 x 8 so it's 225/40/18 all round, as for the staggered set up, the standard wheels are 225/45/17 on the 2.3 and 3.0 or 2.0 and 2.8 on the 3.5 its 17 staggered and then of course the M sport or option wheels are all 225 front and 255 rear.

I've found that with the 225's on the rear traction is considerably better in the wet than my old 2.5si with 255's, in the dry theres no noticable difference except less road noise with the smaller foot print
