Style 108 - Replacement deep dish lips

I'm currently on a set of style 224 Z4M wheels but have always fancied a set of style 108's with replacement lips to give a deep dish and more aggressive fitment.

Looking at this website they are available in the UK for what seems to be a reasonable price. Hopefully, the sale of my 224 wheels would pay for the change if I did go ahead. As I have a stuffy set of 108's available to me to use.

I'm not sure if this is the correct item, but an example of the lips I've seen:

Now I assume the 108 is a 3-piece rim and the above would be usable?

Has anyone on here done this before and if so what depth of rim did you use? I'm thinking that it'd be possible to add an extra inch both front and rear as I've seen people running 20-25mm spaces in the past? Obviously i may need to measure a wheel both front and rear before ordering to confirm.

It looks like the spokes will need a bit of trimming to the ends too.

They also do an 18" to 19" inner and outer lip conversion kit, which is potentially what is on the two cars pictured above. But I think 18" is more suited to UK roads

They look great with the wider lip.
108 are two piece. So you would need to buy barrels to fit these

Yeah if they're only 2 piece wheels then it's a lot more difficult to justify the expense, as you're probably looking at £300-350 per wheel just for the barrels.

I was hoping to be able to just replace the outer lips for around £600, then I'd refurb and build them up myself.

But I guess with the outer rims it's easily double the cost, and could quite easily go over £1500 with new bolts and paying for the centres to be refurbed properly.

Think I'll stick with the deep dished Style 32's I threw on the car yesterday that I didn't expect to work due to the offsets being very aggressive for an E85.

No good ones, unfortunately, as I only put them on the car yesterday.




The rear arch gap is big, due partly to the slight slope in the driveway. But it's also currently on Standard suspension. I've got a set of Eibach lowering springs to go on the car until I can justify a set of BC racing coilovers, but I couldn't fit them with the Z4M wheels and larger M size tyres, as the arches would have definitely rubbed.

Once the car is on level ground the rear wheels do poke slightly, so I may need to run slightly more chamber or/and smaller 245 section tyres. But will see what it's like once the Eibach springs are on the car I guess. I'm hopeful it'll work with close to spec chamber and 255 section tyres still.

I very briefly looked into this, it looks also like you need to get the centres machined on the end of the spokes to make them fit as well.

But the result is stunning

Wouldn’t have thought you’d be able to mix and match, i.e. original wheel and just add the outer lip. Sure they wouldn’t be compatible.

They will also sit higher if you’ve just put them on the car. Will take a while to settle (or a short drive).

If they were a three piece wheel like I thought, it would have just been a case of ordering the correct outer rim with fitment to suit the inner rim. Ie 20 bolt 18", and the rim width required, etc.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem that's the case. And both outer and inner rims are required and only the centre being used following some slight modification to the spoke over han. Due to them being a two piece.

Yeah that was after a short drive around the block. I've also noticed the passenger side sits about 10mm higher than the drivers side too. So the driver's side isn't quite so bad. I thought it was due to the driveway slope.
