Stubby and Peugeot part number

Hi Guys,

I was looking around for a stubby and wanted it too match as much with the base as possible. Eventually I ended up at a Peugeot dealer (great tip from this forum!) and with a helpfull Peugeot employee we found the antenna with partno. 6561.N3 (in the oother thread there was no partno. so thought it could be helpfull for others) at EURO 7.91. I think it would match 100% if mounted from new, my base lost a bit its colour but it still looks great and very happy.

I noted that driving around the city centre, I got slightly less good receipt on the radio, but this is only between high-rise buildings

That's brilliant. Just what I'm looking for! Nicer looking than the mangowalk imo.

Mango walk is the official Z4-forum stubby, this is an imposter and the fit doesnt seem quite so good IMO

I have it from the Citroen C8. It fits perfect. And the cost are € 5,45... it's the same as the antenna from a Peugeot 807.

Aesthetics over performance? Sorry to be boring and outside of the Z4 clique  but I don't mind my normal length aerial that gives great radio reception...

Saying that, I prefer the looks of this stubby over the official Z4-forum Mangowalk Stubby™

Mine is from Lexus, fits perfect, has perfect reception and didn't cost me a penny ;)

Is that cos you pinched it when out on a friday night bender lol x

alright i give up - just got home after the other half picked up my stubby from the Peugeot dealer on her way home (she even paid! (theres a first tiem for everything lol)) but still, I digress - I have a problem.

how the **** do I get the old one off, I've tried the standard twist like unscrewing it, but the bloody thing won't budge for love nor money (nor talking sweet nothings to it either lol)

Any suggestions?

A previous owner could have put thread-lock on it, considering how easy they are to remove that is probably a good idea, they don't come with it from the factory though.

balls - I think they must have done, just tried again and it aint moving - I want to use pliers, but then if it is glued then it will screw it up.

grrrrrr

I'd see go for the pliers because just a bit of glue is not gonna damage the thread if you unscrew it with pliers

hmmm i know it won't be a problem if I use the pliers, I just have visions of it leaving the screw pin behind when I force it off and then I just am left with a stump instead of the funky short stub lol

thread-lock isn't that strong, even if the thread is left you can remove it with pliers.

woooo managed to get the old one of this morning, it is trashed though as the top unscrewed and left the square metal block still in which twisted out with the pliers - rock on thanks for the help folks

New member. New to the world of the zed. Thought I'd see if I could find a really old thread to resurrect, as I scour this excellent forum for hints and tips. First up is replacing the magic wand with one of these recommended Peugeot stubbies. Works a treat and so far no negative aspects to reception of R2, R4 and a couple of local stations. Oh, and GHR of course, ahem - but only since Bruce and Mayo made the jump.
