Looks a nice addition to the engine bay plus some extra rigidity to the front end of the z4. I have searched about some people who bought the luxon strut bar but I could not conclude 2 things clearly.

First of, is a wheel alignment needed after installing the strut bar and secondly, how much should the nuts be torqued? There are six of them on the z4, 3 on each side. I read somewhere its 35Nm.

Any inputs fellas?
 
As long as your parked on flat level ground and you don't move the car when they are undone you should be good. No idea on the NM but I am sure google will tell you.
 
So it is 35Nm after all...thanks mate...the wheel alignment I am not sure about though because I am still in doubt about it all...

Car on the floor.

Undo the nuts on the top mounts.

Put the brace on.

Put the new nuts on the top mount.

Torque up.

As long as the car doesn't move, and you don't pull on the steering wheel then the top mounts won't move and you won't need an alignment.

I speak from experience.
 
Apparently, some people go a different procedure, they actually raise the front end of the z4 instead of leaving it on the ground.... :dizzy: feeling confused....

Why would you lift the car???

You want it bolted in place in its resting position, if you lift the car it changes the way the car sits so your bolting it up in an unnatural position, so the car will never be "happy".

Just do it the way I listed above, it will be fine!!!!

An E39 is a 5 series, so at least one of those quotes, if not all of them aren't important here!
