just bought a new OEM strut brace and will be installing soon. How much torque do I need to apply on strut tower bolts and the bolts on the bar? Anyone here?

Did the retailer not provide you with parameters? There's been a lot of discussion here lately about strut bars as well as a few of us at HC, I don't know much about them, but apparently it really depends on what kind of performance enhancements you're looking to achieve and what kind of driver you are/how you drive your car, etc. Very individulized it seems. I'm sure more experienced folks here can lend you their experiences

It is low. I don't have the exact number handy, but in the neighborhood of 20 ft-lb. The bolts will pull out of the strut mount if you torque too tightly! (I've done it .... :headbang: )

Got the info from the dealer. 35nm for the strut tower bolts.

03 3.0i , I just installed it today and test drive it.................I love it! It seems like that little vibration when on your normal driving is gone and when it comes to cornering ......wow...its awsome!

Don't do what I did, over torqued and broke a tower bolt. After my mistake my dealer said 35 Newton meters. On my wrench it is less than 25 foot pounds, but he is checking again before they fix it to make certain. My bar from the dealer, did not come with any instructions :?

Amen brother. It is also good to have the torque wrench calibrated. I am fortunate to work at a place that has tools re-calibrated on a regular basis at a very low cost.

Keep in mind, too, that a torque wrench that handles 120 ft lbs is not going to be particularly accurate that far down the scale. Every serious gear head should have a low range torque wrench in the tool box.
