You've got two choices here:

You either treat it as a museum piece and do just a few hundred miles a year
or
Drive it normally and take the depreciation as the miles rack up.

You could rack up 60,000 miles in this for a depreciation cost of maybe £15,000. That’s not bad. Worth every penny IMO.

You could, but if I was planning to do 60K in one I'd just buy one half that price and lose much less!

It’s a fair point, but the above is probably the nearest you’ll ever come to owning a “new” one of these; and in 5 years of motoring you’ll lose less than you would on a family hatch.
