Mine did this a couple of years ago but usually when the engine was hot. Three restarts and it would behave again for a few months. Eventually it went into limp mode and wouldn't reset. IIRC it was the camshaft position sensor but I really can't be certain now and I can't check my files back in England from here 
I've had this problem only once since. I'd had a tiny exhaust blow from around the cat heat shield for a few weeks and this got worse with heavy use on a track day. Clearly this upset the lambda sensors. Again, a restart cleared the problem and welding the heat shield back in place seemingly has cured it altogether.
